The office is dead! Home working is killing us! Homeworking is the only way we can open up opportunities to all! We can’t stay connected without an office!
We are being exposed to many contradictory absolutes at the moment but the truth often lies not in the black or the white but in the grey.
What does this mean for leadership?
Don’t be tempted by these compelling extremes. Use these simple practices:
- Be present: tune in, including to your own biases (I have a bias toward WFH to keep an eye on)
- Ask with curiosity: what is working and what isn’t for individuals, team and the organisation?
- Make conscious choices: be deliberate about your shade of grey
- Take action: this is important – move forward. Keep the other practices alive so you can change direction if needed.
