By Dan Hammond, Chief Disruption Officer, LIW
A while ago I saw a list of jobs that were safest from the advance of technology. Among them were physical fitness instructors.
This week, I went to a hotel gym. I sat on a spin bike, it invited me to sign in and before I knew it I was part of a virtual spin class led by a Miss Ali Love. I found myself competing against Scott in Virginia. He annihilated me, but the experience was personal, thrilling and exhausting!
Also this week, I read some research that revealed that pharmaceutical execs believe themselves to be least likely to be disrupted. A workshop with a pharma team revealed the opposite – disruption is inevitable.
What does this mean for leadership?
Simple. You are not immune from disruption or from the excitement of being the disruptor!
