November 24, 2021
As we (almost) all emerge from lockdown into some form of freedom the working world is dealing with the thorny question of how and how much to return to the pre-covid model of office work. One thing that’s clear is that there is no single model of work anymore, with some businesses opting for total flexibility for staff while others favour a return to fully office-based teams, and everything in-between. What appears to be clear is that businesses and teams need to work out the model that works best for them and then be sure to communicate that decision clearly.

The last two years have led to a dramatic increase in workplace mental health concerns. Research suggests that addressing these problems not only benefits the employee concerned but actually improves performance and wellbeing for all.

Ken Blanchard observes that leadership training has made the final step from event-based to integrated learning as organisations recognize the advantages of continuous practice in learning and developing new habits.

Colin Powell offers his rules to live by, including kindness and getting a good nights’ sleep. And finally – an interesting article from Josh Bersin about the metaverse and the benefit of avatars in learning. Enjoy!

What does this mean for leadership?
