The challenge

A major Australian supermarket needed to engage their team in a discussion about the values they had developed. The goal was for each supermarket team nationwide to participate in a team-based conversation led by the managers about the values of the organisation and what that meant to the team at store level. This would be the first time store leaders had been engaged with a values-style conversation and they would need support in making this meaningful to their teams.

The solution

LIW developed a series of workshops and communications prior to the values workshops. The LIW team facilitated 900 store-based conversations in a 9 month period, covering every store in Australia. Each facilitator worked with the teams to bring to life the core values of the organisation and what that meant to the behaviour and ways of working at a store level.

The Impact

The success of the roll-out was marked by the participation of 6,500 individuals with follow-up sessions six weeks later to ensure the consolidation and application of their learning. This was an ambitious and unique rollout for the team, which had never been achieved in the past and was celebrated by our client.
