The impact

Across global regions, multiple languages and both virtual and in-person delivery, this program equipped newly hired, acquired and promoted managers to step confidently into leadership within their first 90 days.

  • 89% of new managers reported feeling better prepared to step into their role, closing a critical capability gap at a time of rapid organisational change.
  • 900+ new managers reached across global locations within months of launch.
  • High NPS scores, with multiple sessions achieving 100 NPS.
  • The design of the workshop was interactive and effective (94% favourable), and the delivery was engaging and impactful (93% favourable).
  • Three program redesign phases throughout the year to keep content current with organisational changes.
  • Team of 22 facilitators and two virtual producers.

The context

A Fortune 100 global technology company was navigating significant organisational change and identified a capability gap in new manager enablement. With 16% of managers having less than one year of people leadership experience, many were stepping into role and leading globally dispersed teams across different cultures and legal environments without formal preparation. This created variability in confidence, capability and leadership impact across regions.

Our approach

Working with multiple subject matter experts across the organisation, LIW co-designed a new manager onboarding experience integrated into the organisation's broader onboarding journey. The immersive program focused on building a shared understanding of what it means to be a manager and to lead at the forefront of the agentic AI era. The design incorporated real-world practice, engaging experiential activities and structured peer connection across global cohorts. A train-the-trainer facilitation model ensured quality and scalability from the outset, including delivery across multiple languages.

"Excellent program and another example that [our organisation] is invested in its people and our success."
"The session was interactive, fun, and impossible to zone out of. It's clear that a lot of thought and experience went into crafting this learning experience for us."

The lasting result

New managers now enter the role with a shared understanding of what it takes to be an impactful manager and why it matters. Extensive resources and follow-up communications help managers access additional learning when they need it most, while peer networks built during the program strengthen collaboration across the organisation. A scalable delivery model ensures the experience remains consistent as the organisation continues to grow and evolve, and regular design reviews keep the program aligned to a fast-changing business operating at the forefront of technology.

"What made this partnership distinctive was the opportunity to design a leadership experience that could scale globally, delivered in multiple languages, without losing its relevance or impact. Together, we built a program that gave new managers the confidence, practical capability and peer connections they needed to succeed during a period of significant organisational change, while creating a delivery model that could evolve alongside the organisation." — Jennie Brown, Managing Consultant, LIW
