The context
Sanofi was operating in a rapidly shifting healthcare landscape, patents ending, patient-centricity becoming a competitive differentiator, and transformation demanding leaders who could think and act beyond their function. Existing development approaches were producing strong functional leaders, but not the enterprise-wide perspective the business needed.
Our approach
LIW created a nine-month leadership journey combining immersive business simulations, action learning projects, deep personal reflection, and individual coaching. Unlike conventional programs, the design required participants to work across functional boundaries throughout, building the cross-functional muscle the business needed, not just teaching it conceptually. Each participant left with a concrete action plan, and coaching ensured those plans translated into sustained behavioural change.
The lasting result
Sanofi now has an award-winning pathway for transitioning high-potential talent into leaders who think beyond their function. The program’s coaching model is its differentiator: development translates into sustained action, not just insight. Participants lead with greater strategic clarity and cross-functional influence, directly supporting Sanofi’s shift toward enterprise-wide thinking.
