Straight-talking is a key part of any group

There are just some team meetings you’d rather not be in.  ‘Chuck and Nancy’s body language said it all as they publicly squabbled with Donald Trump over border security this week. Clearly, neither Christmas cheer nor common ground were present in the Oval Office.

What does this mean for leadership?

Nothing and everything. Straight-talking is a key part of any group. Posturing and power play isn’t, as it leads to a win-lose outcome. The antlers clash over the task and the subtleties of building relations to create a reasonable outcome get squashed on the White House carpet.

Perhaps our new Conversation Starter Cards could have saved all three from their verbal stoush? A way, perhaps, to understand your team on a whole new level and to demolish all border walls!
