I can hear you really care

This week, in my home city of Bristol, tens of thousands of people clapped, cheered and banged pots and pans from their homes at 8pm as healthcare workers finished their shifts and headed home. My sister returned to work as a nurse that day, putting herself at risk to help.

From 10,000 miles away this simple and creative gesture of appreciation brought tears to my eyes.

What does this mean for leadership?

In extraordinary times people do extraordinary things.

We may be far from our teams but there is always a way to show appreciation and care. In doing so, you are not only boosting performance and engagement, but also your team members’ well-being and health too.

What creative ways can you find to show appreciation and care to someone in your team this week?
