A balance of gender-related news was as good as it gets this week.

Josh Bersin’s latest research into Diversity, Equity and Inclusion shows that only one company in five holds itself-accountable for DEI.

The prevailing bias was ably demonstrated by KPMG’s UK Chair, Bill Michael who told staff to stop moaning about the impact of the pandemic and said that unconditional bias was ‘crap’. Doh. Similarly, Yoshiro Mori, Head of the Tokyo Olympic Organising Committee made derogatory comments about women. Both are gone.

What does it mean for leadership?

As dating app Bumble went public last week, CEO Whitney Wolfe credited her team for their success in supporting 1.5 billion ‘first moves by women’. Tennis number one Ash Barty, also credited her rising success specifically to her inclusive team of coaches and friends.

Clearly, #wenotme, is the winning formula.
