My perspective and contribution is shaped by my blended experience as client, client service, consultant with blue-chip / Fortune 500 product and service organisations, working with management teams from more than 80 markets across all geographies, leading major process development, strategic planning, and alignment and cross-functional collaboration. I have held senior international marketing, sales, global customer strategy, and client service roles with GlaxoSmithKline, SmithKline Beecham, Sterling Winthrop, Benckiser, Ecolab, Kimberly-Clark, Reckitt & Colman, and LINTAS Advertising. For more than 15 years (post-corporate life) I worked as an independent consultant across a broad range of industry sectors, in Marketing and Sales assignments before finding my ‘niche’ in leadership capability development. In the course of my leadership and team work, I have worked with leaders at very different stages of their journey, including technical leaders, C-Suite executives, middle managers, newly appointed and high potential leaders, senior sales leaders responsible for Global Accounts and Partner Relationships, as an example. I am experienced and confident working in person and virtually.
My consultancy, facilitation and coaching work in healthcare, tech, telecom and financial services have provided me with the opportunity to do what I love best – supporting individuals on their leadership journeys and working with teams on direction setting and alignment, facilitating them to create the conditions for their team success, challenging them to improve the working dynamics of their team, often through deepening self-awareness and understanding of others, and helping them to plan and cascade change initiatives within their organisations. Client and client service experience means I am adept at account management at senior levels, and business development.
The foundation of my work is in profound philosophies that emphasise self-awareness, experiential learning, and active involvement:
The hardest victory is over self (Aristotle) and I draw inspiration from the words of Benjamin Franklin, who famously said, "Tell me and I forget; show me and I remember; involve me and I learn." This principle underscores the importance of experiential learning and active engagement in the development process. I firmly believe that leadership skills are best cultivated through hands-on experiences, interactive workshops, and real-world application. By involving participants in immersive learning experiences, I create opportunities for them to internalise key concepts, develop practical skills, and drive meaningful change in their leadership approach.
I chose to work with LIW because it feels like joining a vibrant family where passion and purpose drive everything we do. The LIW team is commitment to their people and their work and go "all out" to live the values.
My style is built on trust and openness, creating a safe space where individuals feel comfortable to explore and challenge themselves. I believe in fostering a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and learning from one another. My participants would often describe me as someone who is approachable, empathetic, and genuinely interested in their growth journey. I also bring a healthy dose of challenge to the table. This blend of support and challenge allows individuals to uncover their full potential and achieve meaningful development outcomes.
