I am a Senior Learning and Development Consultant and a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation with more than 1000 hours providing executive coaching globally to leaders across multiple levels of seniority across profit and non-profit sectors and diverse industries such as technology, cybersecurity, education, legal, manufacturing, marketing, health, finance, insurance, defense, automotive, telecommunications and engineering, amongst others. Having started my career as a speech pathologist with a passion for facilitating the communication skills in others, my career has involved direct experience as both a clinician and supervisor at the coal front of health service delivery followed by a decade in academia as a researcher and educator in the field of human communication science. For the past 22 years and with a passion for promoting performance excellence and workplace health and wellbeing, I have been involved in the design and delivery of leadership development and personal effectiveness programs that specialise in developing the communication and self-management capabilities needed for successful leadership, organisational resilience and personal well-being both with my own direct clients and on behalf of organisations such as the Australian Institute of Management, The Australian Medical Association, LIW and several universities including RMIT and Swinburne University in their provision of ongoing services to corporate and government clients. Some of the common challenges with which I have assisted leaders include honing and building their executive presence, their communication capabilities and ability to influence, their cognitive and emotional agility, empathy and compassion, resilience, stress management and capabilities for empowering and motivating others. This has been further supported in my role over the past 6 years as a facilitator within the Graduate Certificate of Organisational Coaching and Applied Business at Swinburne University where I share my expertise with leaders in the development of their own coaching capabilities. Some of my additional experience has included Board Membership, keynote speaking engagements, establishment and management of a communications and development strategy within the private schools sector and provision of probono coaching and facilitation services to non-profit organisations including working with female entrepreneurs in Cambodia and Soth African entrepreneurs at the Branson School of Entrepreneurship.
Coaching is my passion, particularly working with executives both individually and as a group. It is an absolute joy to support them in realising their own potential and holding the space for them to work things out for themselves and see them realise that they had the answers within them all along and the empowerment that comes from that for them. The 'magic' of coaching constantly amazes and surprises me and I am very grateful to be able to facilitate the wellbeing in others that results from coaching.
My approach both as a facilitator and as a coach is informed by theories of adult learning and human motivation and draws heavily on the field of positive psychology to enable behaviour change, performance and growth. My approach is solutions focused, strengths based and draws heavily on the principles of appreciative inquiry that seeks to highlight what is working rather than what is wrong to harness the generative capacity of positive emotion and energy to foster creativity and growth.
I am passionate about working with LIW for numerous reasons that make it an exceptional organisation. One of the key factors is LIW's unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality learning solutions at every level. I deeply appreciate the organisation's culture, characterised by introspection, continuous improvement, and a genuine desire to excel. LIW's receptiveness to feedback and its inclusive approach to collaboration are truly commendable. I value the emphasis placed on working together with clients and colleagues to achieve shared goals and foster a sense of belonging and mutual respect. Moreover, LIW's genuine care and concern for its staff, clients, and all stakeholders demonstrate its commitment to creating meaningful and impactful experiences. It's also worth mentioning that the people at LIW are not only dedicated professionals but also incredibly kind and friendly individuals.
Testimonials reflect that I bring a polished and precise execution to coaching methods, coupled with outstanding care and empathy. I'm genuinely invested in the personal and professional goals of each individual I work with, acting as an active champion of their aspirations. My approach focuses not only on providing answers but also on prompting thoughtful reflection and self-discovery. Participants often highlight that it's not just what I say but how I encourage them to think that leads to meaningful insights and growth. In our sessions, I aim to create a space where uncertainty is embraced and clarity emerges naturally. I bring compassion and lightness, removing any anxiety and fostering an atmosphere of trust and openness.
