In my previous role as a diplomat for the Japanese government, I honed my negotiation skills and fostered collaborations in national security, defense, and trade. Serving as an executive interpreter to the Prime Minister of Japan, I navigated high-stakes conversations with precision. Transitioning to my current profession as a facilitator and coach, I've designed and led numerous workshops focusing on leadership and organisational development. These workshops cover a wide range of topics, including purpose development, conflict resolution, and mindful leadership. I've worked with companies of all sizes, from various industries such as IT, pharmaceuticals, heavy industry, and manufacturing. My background has equipped me with diverse experiences that enable me to understand and address the unique challenges faced by leaders in different sectors. I'm committed to helping organisations cultivate effective leadership and foster growth in today's dynamic business landscape.
The peak of my work satisfaction often arrives at the conclusion of the workshop. This is the moment when each participant openly shares their key takeaways and insights gained throughout the day. It's in these pivotal moments that they reveal their internal struggles and vulnerabilities, while also demonstrating a resolute commitment to change. Witnessing each person embark on their unique journey of transformation is profoundly empowering. I firmly believe that it's the cumulative effect of these individual developments that exerts a significant influence on the broader evolution of the organisation. I believe my strength is the capability to design and facilitate dialogues that effectively steer towards enacting these changes.
In designing and facilitating my sessions, I typically employ NVC (Nonviolent Communication) and Theory U. These methodologies are highly effective in fostering deep, authentic dialogue, which is pivotal in driving profound transformation within individuals and groups alike.
I joined LIW because we both embrace the idea that leadership is not confined to a specific role but should be accessible to everyone within organisations. LIW's commitment to democratising leadership aligns perfectly with my philosophy, which emphasises inclusivity and empowerment at all levels. We believe that fostering a culture where everyone feels empowered to lead contributes to organisational success and employee fulfillment.
My participants appreciate my calm demeanor, which creates a safe space for exploration and growth which is why they would often describe me as approachable, warm, and inclusive. My facilitation style is skillful yet flexible, allowing for dynamic and engaging discussions. I'm known for asking insightful questions that encourage reflection and deeper understanding. Participants value my mindfulness in providing feedback, as it is constructive and supportive, helping them to identify areas for improvement while acknowledging their strengths.
