Before becoming an independent coach and facilitator, I worked for 9 years in Learning & Development for the UK’s leading provider of student accommodation, culminating in 2 years as L&D Director with a team of 8. During this period, the business went through exponential growth, giving me really valuable experience in leading people through continuous fast-paced change. Since leaving this organisation in 2008, I have worked as a consultant and coach for organisations from public, private and charity sector, of all different sizes and at different stages in their development. These include pharmaceutical, financial services, renewable energy, manufacturing and packaging businesses, UK local authorities, the NHS and housing associations.

I love working with anyone who wants to learn, grow, develop or change - whoever they are. This openness is more important to me than what sector they work in or what role they do. I particularly enjoy 1-2-1 and small group coaching and running peer reflective or action learning groups. I have recently become a qualified coach supervisor and am really enjoying supporting the development of coaches in this way, both individually and in small groups. I am a very experienced coach with a natural calmness, patience and empathy. I am good at building relationships and trust very quickly, creating a space of non-judgemental curiosity for my clients and using observations, intuition and challenging questions to help them gain insight.

My work is influenced by a number of different of layers of learning that I have done over a period of more than 20 years - in particular, gestalt, mindfulness and the power of presence, dialogue and complexity/chaos theory. In turn, I am drawn to these theoretical areas by a fundemental belief in the power of relationship, connection and curiosity to affect change.

My decision to join this exceptional team is driven by two key factors: the remarkable people and the unwavering commitment to quality work. My journey with LIW began through the introduction of two incredibly talented friends and colleagues, whose expertise and integrity I deeply admire and trust. Knowing that they are integral members of the core team played a significant role in my decision to collaborate with LIW initially. To my delight, I have consistently encountered the same authenticity and passion in every interaction with other members of the LIW team and in the projects I've been involved in. What truly sets us apart is our dedication to delivering well-researched and well-designed leadership development initiatives. The programs are not only meticulously crafted but also allow for flexibility and adaptability to address emergent needs and opportunities. This combination of thoughtful design and responsiveness to evolving circumstances ensures that our work remains relevant and impactful.

I like to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel safe to explore and grow which is probably why my participants have described me as present, warm, calm, and authentic.
