The challenge
The goal was to equip senior leaders with the mindset, behaviours and skills to execute a challenging 5-year plan. This required a clear and collective understanding of the responsibilities of a senior leader and a need to unify the group to operate as peers that hold each other to account and coach each other to deliver outcomes. A mindset shift was needed from managing their business area to leading a team at an enterprise level that enables the delivery of the strategy.
The solution
Our nine-month leadership and team development experience is not just a learning journey, but a catalyst for immediate change. The program is set to equip the leaders and their teams for success. It is based on our Team Acceleration approach for leadership and organisational development, where leaders apply their learnings in real work with their peer group, resulting in an immediate impact on their teams. The program included five face-to-face workshops, starting with an immersive business simulation. Each participant received individual leadership circle 360-degree feedback, individual development planning, and four one-to-one coaching sessions spread throughout the program duration. Skills development was delivered through five 90-minute skills labs, each followed by a two-week learning sprint to drive application, create habits and encourage a culture of experimentation
The Impact
All participants implemented the core models and approaches in their teams to drive high performance. Each person has a high-quality development plan in place built from their leadership circle feedback and focusing on behaviours that align with their leadership purpose and career direction. The senior leadership group has a purpose and behaviours that they unite behind to create cohesiveness and hold each other to account.
